Here are our favorite covers from DC and Marvel for December 2011. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did.
Making fun of icons is always a hoot.
We like this kind of wrinkly style. Besides, it’s Kingpin!
You can feel the speed that you would expect for a jet liner.
Frank Cho. Good clean image as always.
Just silly. Besides, we like Kyle Baker
Get it? The Devil playing as an angel? Besides, having old Hornhead take a moment of private levity makes us get all warm inside thinking about the holidays.
Like a clean bandage can hide a horrible wound, the flag belies the ugliness underneath.
Classic gimmick. Good though. The spotlight effect is amazingly realistic.
C’mon. It’s Chaykin. ‘Nuf said.
The top part is Miller-esque. Works.
Not really too special but the details are really good.
We don’t much care for the Penguin character, but the brooding walk shot from down low elevates the villain.
The heavy line and realism is wonderful. The horror effect is a very nice touch.
Bisley rarely disappoints. Lady Liberty looks very annoyed.
Could have been a pedestrian image but the moon creates an almost blinding reflection that’s amazingly realistic.
The layers create depth with each having their own experience.
The Gotham cityscape roiling over the wings is a scary effect.
Just a really cool image. Except for the homo-erotic cod piece.
Maybe not as good as the Batman & Robin cover but the blood effect is a nice touch.
Adam Hughes is probably obligatory.
